Amanda Vereb, Owner and Head Workhorse of The Iron Horse Atelier in Pittsburgh, Pa, started her own couture line under her name. Amanda has been involved in the fashion industry since graduating college in 2010 and has been in the wedding industry for 12 years. She has fashioned herself as one of the top tailors in Pittsburgh and has been named Best of The Knot in Alterations in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Amanda was recently accepted into New York Fashion Week in September where she debuted a 7-piece couture collection for Spring 2025.
Her inspiration came from the floral and geometric fabrics she sourced in NYC this past October.
In "Botanical Symmetry," couture meets nature in an exquisite fusion of floral elegance and geometric precision. Each garment in this collection is meticulously crafted to celebrate the harmony between the organic and the structured.
The color palette reflects the vibrant hues found in nature's own canvas. Soft whites and cream along with powder blue evoke the delicate petals of blossoming flowers. Contrasted with sleek metallic accents in gold and silver, the collection exudes a sense of opulence and refinement.
Luxurious silks, organzas, and light spring wool serve as the canvas for this couture journey. Delicate lace overlays with pearl details adding dimension and texture. Each fabric is carefully selected to enhance the interplay between fluidity and structure, creating a tactile experience that is both sensual and sophisticated.
The silhouettes are a study in balance and proportion, blending feminine curves with architectural lines. Meticulously pleated skirts are adorned with oversized floral appliqués, while tailored silhouettes are embellished with intricate geometric pearl beading. Structured corsets and bodices create a sculptural effect, accentuating the natural beauty of the female form.
Every detail is thoughtfully considered, from the placement of each petal to the precision of each seam. Feather flowers cascade down skirts and cascade along necklines. Geometric motifs, inspired by 70s fashion and mid-century modern architecture, adorn sleeves and hems, adding a modern edge to classic silhouettes.
As the final collection will make its way down the runway, it will encapsulate the essence of "Botanical Symmetry" – a harmonious blend of nature's beauty and human artistry. With each step, the model exudes confidence and grace, embodying the timeless elegance of couture craftsmanship.
This collection seeks to captivate the senses and transport the viewer into a world where floral fantasies and geometric precision converge in perfect harmony.
